Plasencia Cigars has released a limited-edition cigar in celebration of this year’s FIFA World Cup called Ehtëfal. The cigar is being presented November 19 in Doha, Qatar, where the world cup will be taking place, before shipping worldwide later that month.
Ehtëfal is the Arabic word for “celebration” and the word has significant meaning for the Plasencias as they see it as a celebration of the world coming together after the challenges of the past couple of years.
“With this special blend, the Plasencia family can celebrate that we can meet again,” said Nestor Andrés Plasencia of Plasencia Cigars. “Just as the roots of the tobacco come together and become stronger, we are too stronger together. We wish to celebrate this momentous occasion taking place in Qatar with the Plasencia Ehtëfal.
The Plasencia Ehtëfal cigar is produced in Nicaragua and available in only one size: a Toro measuring 6 inches by 52 ring gauge. It’s made with an organic sungrown wrapper from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua. Inside are a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan fillers. According to the company, all the tobaccos were grown on farms owned by the Plasencia family and the cigars fall in the medium-to-full-bodied range.
Packaged in boxes of 10, Ehtëfal has a suggested retail price of $65 per cigar, or $650 for the box.
Production of Ehtëfal is limited to 2,500 boxes for the U.S. market and the same number for the international market.
