Nordic heritage meets Michigan ingenuity in Norden Aquavit - a modern approach to a traditional Scandinavian botanical spirit. Distilled in Michigan from 100% organic Midwest grain spirits, caraway, and select botanicals, Norden Aquavit recently took home a Double-Gold medal and the title of Best Aquavit at the San Francisco World Spirits competition! Aquavit has always held a special place at the dining table and during festive celebrations in Scandinavia. While similar in style to Gin, the main flavor must be from caraway or dill, rather than juniper. Typically served chilled or neat with food, Norden Aquavit can also be enjoyed in a variety of classic cocktails - like a gimlet!
Tasting Notes and Botanicals:
Beyond the defining notes of refreshing Caraway spice, a break with tradition begins as bright and faintly sweet citrus notes loom large. Fresh fruit and herbal aromas are an enticing draw while floral and earthy undertones hold your attention throughout. Bottled at 45% alc./vol. to allow the character of each ingredient to stand out when mixed. Over-all, a harmonious flavor with a clean and smooth finish unlike any other.
