WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The Antoniolo Gattinara "Le Castelle" Riserva is a stunning expression of Nebbiolo from the Gattinara DOCG in northern Piedmont, a region renowned for producing more mineral-driven and structured styles of Nebbiolo compared to Barolo and Barbaresco. The Le Castelle Riserva is sourced from a single vineyard and is known for its power, elegance, and exceptional aging potential. Antoniolo is one of the key producers in Gattinara, and their dedication to traditional winemaking ensures this wine reflects the terroir’s true potential. It’s a must-try for Nebbiolo lovers who appreciate a more structured and terroir-driven style.
TASTING NOTES:
A solidly built red, with enticing aromas that evoke truffle, autumn wood, sandalwood, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco. Reveals prevailing cherry, berry and menthol flavors, which are woven into the dense, tannic finish. Drink now through 2035. 200 cases made, 50 cases imported.

The 2018 Gattinara Riserva Le Castelle is the most forward of the Antoniolo Gattinaras from a ripeness perspective. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather and mocha are nicely pushed forward, all wrapped up by plush contours. Of the wines in this range, this is one I would drink the earliest.
