WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
A ripe vintage focusing on black summer fruit and candied flavors. Tannins are juicy and seamless with a finish on herbal notes.
Blend: 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, 16% Syrah
TASTING NOTES:
The 2018 Frederick is based on 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, and 16% Syrah , all from the Walla Walla Valley, that spent 19 months in 40% new French oak. It has a great nose of ripe red and black fruits as well as notes of chocolate, dried herbs, and loamy soils, with subtle background oak. Medium to full-bodied, it has firm tannins, a solid core of sweet fruit, and a great finish. It’s going to benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and drink brilliantly over the following decade.

Precise and firm at the core but complemented by handsome blackberry, pencil lead and licorice flavors.

Aromas of ripe red cherry, red apple, plum and cooking spice. Full-bodied with chewy, firm tannins. Bright, juicy fruit with nutmeg and ground clove adding charm. Dry finish.

The nose of the 2018 Frederick is firm and dark-fruited with notions of baked earth, herbs and spiced plum compote. Medium to full-bodied and with a dusty expression, the palate offers flavors of sweet blackberries and dark cherries before turning to a tannic edge with succulent acidity over the lingering, dusty finish.
