WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Its ruby red hue, with garnet nuances, anticipates an aromatic bouquet that manifests itself with aromas of red fruits, accompanied by notes of spices, tobacco and woody hints. On the palate, the wine is round and harmonious, with a velvety texture that expertly balances its elements. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a long-lasting and satisfying impression.
TASTING NOTES:
The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2019 Barolo shows a luminous ruby appearance and lean fruit weight. The bouquet follows up with crushed rose, dried cherry, licorice root and nectarine. I love the delicate, silky nature of the mouthfeel. This elegant wine has an accessible side, but it delivers a good value versus quality proposition.

Spicy with licorice, the 2019 Barolo Cannubi pours a rich ruby/garnet, with aromatics of baked cherry, pine, and savory porcini. This medium to full-bodied red is persistent and tension-packed, with ripe gripping tannins, a forward-driving acidity, and mouthwatering salinity. Allow it another couple of years and drink 2025-2040.
