DISTILLER'S NOTES:
Upholding The Boss Hog’s five promises – single barrel, bottled at proof, powerfully complex, distinctly unique from anything they have done before and stupendous – The Boss Hog IX: Siren’s Song is Straight Rye Whiskey aged in American Oak and double cask finished in our own Greek fig nectar and farm-scratch tentura, a Greek liqueur originating in the Peloponnesian city of Patras. Both finishes were created by our Vermont distillery team using both Greek and local ingredients, with the tentura forged from cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, orange peel and honey.
The latest chapter in The Boss Hog odyssey, a journey through parts previously unknown in the world of whiskey. It begins with some of the oldest Rye on our Farm. Then, a double finish in barrels formerly belonging to Greek fig nectar and scratch made Tentura – a Greek style liqueur inspired by Ancient Patras.
Siren’s Song is the result… an adventure for the ages, befitting its own ode. It beckons you with refrains of supple sweetness and exotic spice. Honoring our five promises for every edition of The Boss Hog, you are guaranteed a stupendous and powerfully complex whiskey; single barrel in origin, bottled at proof and unique from anything you’ve ever before tasted. And for the first time ever, the cask finishes for this particular edition were crafted by our own whiskey makers: Liz Rhoades and Meghan Ireland.
The dynamic duo were inspired by the Muses of Greek Mythology – each of whom is depicted on one of nine bespoke pewter toppers: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania. Amass them all if you dare; these others of creation also birthed the mischievous and mysterious sirens
