WINEMAKER NOTES:
Dalla Valle's Collina bottling captures the extraordinary nature of their hillside estate, blending wine prouduced from mainly their younger vines planted in the last 10-20 years; something considered "mature" by others' standards. The 2019 vintage highlights the strength of Dalla Valle's terroir, which has a western exposure and rocky, well-drained soils. The result of a long, cool growing season, the grapes were bright with acidity and full of aromatic components. This year the Collina bottling is comprised of 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Petit Verdot.
TASTING NOTES:
The base 2019 Collina was originally made from the younger vines of the estate, yet those vines aren’t so young anymore, and this easily stands alone as a brilliant Bordeaux blend. Black cherries, currants, leafy herbs, and subtle floral notes all define the bouquet, and it’s darker, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully balanced on the palate. It’s undeniably delicious and perfect for drinking over the coming 10-15 years
