Nerello Cappuccio, wrongly considered the underdog of the famous Nerello Mascalese. This Cappuccio from Calabretta excels in elegance and balance, with a deeper and darker color. Grapes from a very young vineyard that has just been planted.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2020 Nerello Cappuccio opens with an exotic blend of spiced citrus, cloves, blood orange and sour cherries. It is light-bodied yet full of character, with tart wild berry fruits and saline minerals that collect toward the close. The 2020 takes on a bitter note that puckers the cheeks, coming across as savory and full of tension throughout the finish.
