WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Castello Banfi Rosso di Montalcino might be considered Brunello's younger sibling. Made from 100% select Sangiovese clones, Rosso di Montalcino offers rich, forward fruit flavors in a well-structured wine with supple tannins and good acidity for dining.
TASTING NOTES:
Licorice, rose and wild strawberries combine as the 2022 Rosso di Montalcino develops. This pretty blending of southern Montalcino fruit and Sangiovese acidity comes across as ripe yet juicy with a mineral core to contrast. It finishes with decent length and potency, leaving a youthful tension that will require a short stay in the cellar to resolve.
