TASTING NOTES:
Another Merlot dominated red is the 2013 Red Blend, which is 63% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 51% new French oak. Its deep ruby color is followed by elegant, pure notes of cassis, black raspberries, violets and graphite, as well as a wine that has medium to full-bodied richness, outstanding balance and a focused, lengthy finish. It should keep for a decade.

Broad and expressive, layered with spicy, minerally, peppery, orange peel-accented black cherry and licorice flavors that glide against polished tannins into a long and harmonious finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

Merlot (63%) takes the lead on this blend followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (23%) and Cabernet Franc. The aromas seem somewhat wound up at present, with notes of wood spice, vanilla and fresh herb. The palate is über-smooth, showing a fine sense of balance and polish.
