WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
This wine is produced from 100% Negroamaro grapes, a native vine that has found its ideal habitat in the Salento terroir, giving wines of great character and intensity.
Intense ruby red color with violet hues, the 12 and a half presents itself on the nose with a rich and complex bouquet. Aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, blend with spicy and balsamic notes, a light touch of vanilla resulting from aging in wood further enriches the olfactory experience.
On the palate, it is structured and well balanced. The softness of the tannins integrates perfectly with the typical acidity of Negroamaro, offering a pleasantly persistent drink. The sensations of red fruit and spices return, leading to a long and satisfying finish.
An ideal accompaniment for robust dishes, such as roast meat, game and mature cheeses, Varvaglione's Negroamaro Del Salento IGP "12 e mezzo" is also perfect to be tasted alone, as a meditation wine.
